Summary

Poor sanitation and broken streets in low-income communities of Kasur, Punjab Pakistan create serious health risks and unsafe living conditions for families. This project will construct a few model streets with proper drainage while conducting community awareness sessions on sanitation and public health. Residents will also be encouraged to engage local authorities and elected representatives to improve sanitation infrastructure across their communities.

Challenge

Kasur, Punjab Pakistan faces serious sanitation challenges. In many low-income neighborhoods, streets are broken and proper drainage systems are missing. Wastewater often accumulates, creating unhygienic conditions and spreading diseases that affect children and families. Many households are forced to spend their limited income on medical treatment instead of food, education, and other basic needs.

Solution

This project will construct a few model streets with proper drainage in vulnerable communities of Kasur to demonstrate safe and hygienic infrastructure. At the same time, community awareness sessions will educate residents about sanitation and public health. Communities will also be encouraged to engage local authorities and elected representatives to advocate for improved street construction and drainage in their neighborhoods.

Long-Term Impact

This project will improve public health by reducing disease caused by poor sanitation. Families will spend less on medical treatment and more on food and education.
