Millions of people have been affected and are highly vulnerable by severe flooding in Southern and northern part of Pakistan. Recent heavy rains in Sindh, KPK and Punjab have killed thousands of people due to urban flooding and have swept away livestock, properties and valuables of worth billions of Rupees. Hundreds of people, including women and children, died after they were swept away in a flash flood caused by monsoon rains in Karachi and high level river flood in North, Southern and Western part of Pakistan in almost all major provinces of Pakistan. Hundreds were reported to be missing in Southern Punjab and Balochistan. According to the State Disaster Management Authority, the flood had taken away thousand acres of agricultural land, livestock and also have destroyed food in all over Pakistan. The unprecedented rains and floods in Pakistan have caused large scale devastation in various parts of the country. The Government of Pakistan has declared a state of emergency in view of huge losses of life, property, infrastructure, livestock and livelihoods. 33 million people have been affected by flood and 10000+ lives have lost. The entire Pakistani nation, civil society and humanitarian organizations have stepped forward to assist in the rescue and relief efforts. Millions of people have been affected by heavy rainfall, flash floods and landslides since July, as Pakistan endured more than 80% of its normal total monsoon rainfall in three weeks. Overall, the country sees its eighth cycle of monsoon rains. Thousands are without food and shelter in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces, which have been most affected by this humanitarian disaster.
Donations will provide immediate relief to survivors in form of supplies(food, shelter, water, and medicine) in addition to long-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild.
All donations to this fund will support recovery and relief efforts for flooding and monsoons in Pakistan. Initially, the fund will help survivors’ immediate needs for shelter food, fuel, clean water and hygiene products. Once initial relief work is complete, this fund will help the locals to rehabilitate.
